The school is a voluntary controlled Church of England school in the Diocese of Exeter. This is a small rural school with an intake of children from Northlew and outlying areas. We currently have a roll of 30 pupils. We take girls and boys aged from 5 - 11 years old. They are organised into two classes:
• Keystage 1, for Reception, Years 1 and 2
• Keystage 2, for Years 3, 4, 5 and 6

There is an assembly hall which divides the two classes, a library, an office and small kitchen area. The school has recently been extended to house a new classroom for keystage 2 children and new toilets. To the rear of the school is a tarmac playground. Newly installed adventure play equipment is situated on the grassy area just beyond the playground, allowing activities such as climbing, hanging and balancing to take place. There is a pond area for the children to use for environmental studies and a small garden which the children use to grow vegetables and other plants. The playground has beautiful views of Dartmoor.
